Village Neighbors is part of a growing national movement dedicated to helping us older adults maintain active, independent lifestyles in the place we call home. We are a volunteer - driven membership organization that couples old-fashioned neighborliness with modern know-how to provide important services and enhance quality of life. The Village Model is an innovative, cost effective community based solution that improves quality of life and expands choices at all stages of aging.
Our goals are simple: Enable older adults to remain in charge of their lives, independent in their homes of choice, and involved in their communties as they (we) age.

Village Neighbors’ Impact in 2025
2025 was a standout year for Village Neighbors. Our volunteers completed 650 service requests, providing essential support that helped Island residents stay connected, supported, and independent. The graph below offers a visual breakdown of the services our members relied on most.
What We Provided Most
Convenience Services & Errands
Quick trips to the post office or H&H, moving trash bins to the curb, and other everyday tasks topped the list of requests.
Grocery Delivery & Assistance
A vital service for many members, ensuring access to fresh food and household essentials.
Transportation
Rides both on and off the Island helped members get to medical appointments, social outings, and essential errands.
Our Growing Community Impact
Since opening our doors in 2022, Village Neighbors has supported more than 95 Island residents through thousands of hours of volunteer service. Every request completed reflects the dedication of neighbors helping neighbors—one ride, one errand, one friendly connection at a time.
